When I started the Union Soccer Blog this time last year, I wasn’t exactly sure what the reception would be.
I was blown away by the support right away for taking my Union coverage to an independent level and can’t thank every one of you who subscribed enough.
With the 2024 preseason on the horizon, it’s time to run it back on Substack.
I’ll once again be providing Union coverage here on the Union Soccer Blog for the 2024 season, which sets up to be as busy as the 2023 campaign.
There is one slight tweak. The subscription price is moving up a few dollars.
The yearly subscription will be $45 and the monthly subscription will be $8 per month. The slight increase helps cover the small percentage Substack takes out to host the blog on its site. This allows me to keep $40 for every yearly subscription.
The Union Soccer Blog had 157 posts and had coverage of every Union match across a smattering of competitions last season. The yearly payment equates to right around $1 per game given how many matches the Union are slated to play across all competitions in 2024.
The intention is to keep the same level of coverage for 2024 with an increased focus on more feature pieces and additional travel for a handful of road games.
The Union do not go west of Chicago after March in league play, so the goal is to hit more road games across the eastern time zone. All subscriptions will go toward funding the road trips. The more paid subscriptions equals more on-site coverage outside of Chester.
I can’t say enough how grateful I am for everyone who made the coverage such a success last year, especially after feeling in the wilderness once we lost the radio rights at Fox Sports The Gambler.
Thank you in advance to everyone who subscribes and I’m looking forward to sharing my 11th season on the Union beat with all of you!
Awesome to hear, Joe! Looking forward to reading and listening to your coverage. Well worth the subscription price.
Thanks for the great coverage! I was stoked when I found this among my Substack reads!
