Union Trade Andres Perea to NYCFC For Lots of GAM
The Union sent Perea to NYCFC on a permanent basis for $650,000 in guaranteed GAM and $150,000 in incentive-linked GAM.
The Philadelphia Union dealt Andres Perea to New York City FC on Monday for up to $800,000 in general allocation money.
The Union received $350,000 in GAM for the 2024 season, $300,000 in GAM for the 2025 campaign and could earn up to $150,000 in GAM if certain performance-based incentives are reached.
The Union cut bait on the idea of Perea helping out their team last summer when they sent the 23-year-old midfielder on loan to NYCFC for $300,000 in GAM.
Philadelphia originally acquired Perea for $750,000 in GAM with a $100,000 GAM performance-based incentive from Orlando City last offseason.
To help with all that math: the Union made a bit of profit on a player that didn’t fit their system.
