CHESTER — The Philadelphia Union did exactly what was expected of them on Wednesday night.

The Union won Leagues Cup East Group 1 with a 5-1 thumping of Queretaro.

The victory featured some usual characteristics, like Daniel Gazdag penalty makes and a strong defensive performance, but there were also a few un-Union-like goals, for lack of a better term.

Jim Curtin’s side scored twice from outside the box and off a set piece and it produced a bit more variety in its playing style.
