Union Hire Bradley Carnell As Head Coach
The former St. Louis City boss has been tasked with refining the foundation already in place with the Philadelphia Union.
CHESTER — Philadelphia Union sporting director Ernst Tanner got exactly what he was looking for in a head coach by hiring Bradley Carnell.
Carnell checks every box of the job description Tanner put out for the job once the Union opted to fire Jim Curtin.

Growth and development were the two words used most by Tanner and Carnell as they described what the Union will look like in 2025 and beyond.
“I believe in growth in taking the Philadelphia Union ahead of where they want to be,” Carnell said.
“I know Ernst drives high standards and drives a lot of expectations, which is great because I’m going to learn, and maybe surprise him because I have some of those expectations and demands met already,” Carnell said.
