Union Film Study: Front Three Thriving By Being Close Together
Mikael Uhre, Tai Baribo and Daniel Gazdag each scored in the Union's last two games as a product of being closer together.
CHESTER — Mikael Uhre, Tai Baribo and Daniel Gazdag have become closer over the last month or so.
Literally.
The Philadelphia Union’s front three played in a tighter area within the final third together and it reaped a ton of rewards in the last week against New York City FC and D.C. United.
“With the front three, you can look at the New York City game and tonight, they’re close together,” Union manager Jim Curtin said. “Sometimes soccer is very simple. When they are very close together, we score goals.”
“You can see in the film, New York City was a great example, all three of those guys could almost hold hands when the ball hit the ball of the net in every instance. That’s something we work with them, preached to them, and again, we’re going to go as far as those guys go,” Curtin said.
