CHESTER — The Philadelphia Union survived and advanced in every sense of the played out cliche on Tuesday night.
The Union recovered from one of their worst starts of the season to pull level with the New York Red Bulls in the second half and send the contest to penalties.
The performance wasn’t anywhere close to meeting the high standard the Union have for themselves, but Jim Curtin made the adjustment out of a bad tactical setup and the squad showed a ton of fight to pull off their fourth win in an elimination game over the Red Bulls since 2018.
