Philadelphia Union Pull Off Another Improbable Win Thanks to Markus Anderson
Anderson scored the game-winning goal almost a full year after he was banished from the first team due to a mistake against Cincinnati.
CHESTER —Just when you thought the Philadelphia Union’s 2025 season couldn’t get more improbable, Saturday night happened.
Markus Anderson, making his first MLS appearance in almost a year, scored a 98th-minute game-winning goal to give the Union a 2-1 victory over Charlotte FC.
“I’m feeling amazing,” Anderson said. “I’ve said many times that words can’t describe the way I’m feeling. I’ve just been working hard throughout the year. I’ve been going through injuries and stuff. To score this goal, brings a lot of confidence back and makes me want to keep going forward.”
