Philadelphia Union Pleased With Increase In Set Piece Goals

CHESTER — Set-piece effectiveness was one of the lingering concerns about the Philadelphia Union’s play in 2023.
Those of us on the outside have been screaming for set-piece variety, a new corner and free-kick taker and simply just more goals off restarts.
Well it turns out we weren’t the only ones who noticed an improvement needed to be made.
“I was getting really pissed off at the fact that we hadn’t scored set piece goals until recently,” Union captain Alejandro Bedoya said after Saturday’s 4-1 win over Inter Miami.
