Philadelphia Union Experience Another Frustrating Home Loss
Simple mistakes continued to plague the Union and frustration has set in with Jim Curtin and the players.
CHESTER — The Philadelphia Union players, coaches and fans are frustrated.
That’s really the only way to describe the emotions of the four-game home losing streak that was extended by Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to New York City FC at Subaru Park.
“We’ve become uncharacteristically fragile at home, which hurts our fans, coaches, players. There’s no moral victories in this thing,” Union head coach Jim Curtin said.
Curtin was far from the only visibly frustrated person after the game. Kai Wagner and Julian Carranza each voiced their dismay with the situation.
Curtin revealed that Carranza was one of the most vocal players during the halftime talk.
“Surprisingly Julian spoke the most, which was great,” Curtin said. “I was really impressed by what he had to say because it was all actually right, accurate, the truth and it was long. It was good to see from a young striker, who plays with passion and wants to win every time.”
