Mistakes Continue to Hurt Philadelphia Union In Loss to Orlando City
The Philadelphia Union conceded twice in 10 minutes in their first MLS regular-season home loss since September 3, 2021.
CHESTER — The Philadelphia Union have fallen short of expectations through five games of the 2023 Major League Soccer season.
The latest in the string of disappointing performances occurred on Saturday night in the 2-1 home loss to Orlando City.
The defeat was the first suffered by the Union in a regular-season game inside Subaru Park since September 3, 2021.
“First and foremost, I apologize to our fans. It’s a feeling we haven’t had in this building in 20-plus games,” Union head coach Jim Curtin said to start off his post-match press conference.
“Losing at home is not something we’re comfortable with. It feels strange.”
Curtin and the Union players have set an incredibly high standard over the last two years.
