Mistakes Add Up In Philadelphia Union's Loss To Toronto FC
A handful of uncharacteristic errors doomed the Union at BMO Field on Wednesday night.
The Philadelphia Union turned in a terrible 90-minute performance in Wednesday’s 3-1 loss to Toronto FC.
The Union entered BMO Field with an opportunity to potentially make up some ground in the Eastern Conference table, or at minimum, solidify their second-place position.
They left the pitch ruing a handful of errors that led to poor concessions and missed an opportunity to put any pressure on FC Cincinnati in the dwindling Supporters’ Shield race.
“Overall, it was not sharp enough,” Union head coach Jim Curtin said. “When you go on the road, regardless of team’s records, you have to be clinical, you have to be professional, you have to be disciplined and we were none of those things tonight.”
