Kai Wagner Talks New Coach, Getting Back to Winning in 2025 and Transfer Rumors
The Union left back talked about expectations for 2025 and the latest offseason interest in him.
CHESTER — Kai Wagner wants the Philadelphia Union to get back to winning ways more than anyone inside the club.
The German left-back was one of many veteran players left frustrated by the failures of the 2024 campaign.
For 2025, the goal in Wagner’s eyes is getting back to the high standard the Union set in the three years prior.
“I want to get the best out of this season because last season was not good enough for all of us,” Wagner told Union Soccer Blog on Tuesday. “We made some changes. Jovan stepped in and did a good job so far. It’s good to have someone else challenging the guys.”
“Everyone is saying we should play the young kids, but for us, it’s more in the moment that we should go out and get the wins now instead of just looking for young kids. You will always hear me say that I want to win games. I don’t want to lose games anymore. Last year was just too many. It’s just about winning games.”
