Jack McGlynn Pushing For More Time In Philadelphia Union Starting XI
The midfielder's performance on Tuesday turned heads not just for his attacking presence, but for his defensive prowess as well.
Jack McGlynn forced his way into more playing time for the Philadelphia Union with his performance against Atlas in the Concacaf Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Atlas.
But it was not his trademark left foot that solely made the case for him to be in the starting XI on a more regular basis.
The Homegrown Player displayed an improved set of defensive qualities, and that is the key to moving him above, or at least equal to, Leon Flach on the Union depth chart.
“I know I can (play well defensively),” McGlynn said on Tuesday night. “I know a lot of people think I can’t. I know I can and I showed well tonight.”
