D.C. United's Tactical Plan Slowed Down Philadelphia Union
Wayne Rooney's men came into Subaru Park with an organized game plan that held the Union scoreless.
D.C. United brought one of the better opposing game plans into Subaru Park on Wednesday night.
The result was a frustrated Union side after 90 minutes, a scoreless draw and some worrisome performances from Philadelphia’s attackers.
D.C. had a clear objective to clog up the middle and take Daniel Gazdag and Joaquin Torres out of the game.
Gazdag finished with his lowest total of touches in a start in Major League Soccer play in 2023. The Hungarian had 25 touches and made little to no impact in the final third.
